I have over ten years of experience providing therapy in the NHS and private practice and am experienced at treating a range of psychological problems including anxiety issues, social anxiety, OCD, generalised anxiety, PTSD, stress, burnout and issues with relationships. My specialist area is trauma and I have worked at several specialist NHS trauma services. There are many therapeutic approaches to choose from but fundamentally all therapy is aimed at making sense of things. The guiding principle is that with increased understanding we make changes and feel more in control of our lives. Good therapy provides the safe context to undertake this and I am a compassionate and empathic therapist committed to helping individuals navigate through life's challenges.
My therapeutic approach is informed by CBT and EMDR but I use a range of models and methods, tailored to you as an individual. I am drawn to CBT as a modality because I value practical approaches to helping people and have seen how effective it can be. People I have worked with therapeutically have described my therapeutic style as down to earth, straightforward and friendly.
