Ricky is an experienced psychotherapist who provides a non-judgmental space to listen to the concerns of his clients truly. In therapy, Ricky works with a spirit of wonder to explore how you have engaged with your life and how you believe others perceive you. Existential philosophy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Cognitive Analytical Therapy form the basis of this exploration. He believes combining these approaches is most effective in meeting the uniqueness of each client to arrive at a better understanding of your present issues.
Ricky’s lifelong interest and fascination with the human condition led him to train as a counselling psychologist. In his practice, Ricky provides a space to journey through parts of your life that have been neglected or are in a current crisis. With the ever-increasing demands on our lives to perform or to be more productive, life is in a constant flux where meaning and purpose are often obscured.
Through the process of therapy, you will develop self-knowledge, self-awareness and an innate resilience to meet the challenges of life. With this in-depth understanding, you will feel more empowered to work through the issues that previously held you back or were too overwhelming to face. From eight years within the NHS and working in France, Ricky gained experience of helping people with anxiety, depression, addiction, bereavement, psychosis, schizophrenia and relationship problems. Ricky also specialises in sleep disorders, dreaming and nightmares which are often accompanied when going through stressful phases in your life. Ricky is LGBTQ-friendly and works with those in the process of transitioning.
