Rachel is an experienced integrative counsellor who is adept in harvesting a meaningful, trusted, inclusive therapeutic experience between equals. She provides an intuitive, empathic and warm environment to explore emotional difficulties, distress or opportunities for change. Rachel applies a combined approach to therapy, blending together a range of theories, modalities and interventions to suit the specific needs of the client. Her practice incorporates humanistic, CBT, DBT and psychodynamic models to inform her work. Your therapeutic journey is unique to you, therefore Rachel will facilitate a bespoke pathway centring on your here and now distress, whilst looking at early life experiences and any links and themes that flow habitually through our thoughts and how these cognitive scripts can influence both our emotions and our behaviour.
Rachel’s passion is supporting those suffering with mental health difficulties, including depression, anxiety, personality and mood disorders. She has a wealth of experience working with trauma, both historical and current; and the impacts that can have on us psychologically, emotionally and somatically. Having worked in the field of addiction recovery for many years, Rachel has helped individual’s break free from the dysfunctional behaviours linked to substance misuse and supporting those through consequential impacts including relational ruptures and professional issues. In connecting with her clients on a deeper level, they describe benefiting from a new found level of self awareness, centeredness and psychological growth. Rachel also offers Bereavement Counselling, and can help you process your feelings of loss and grief from losing a loved one. Rachel will work with you collaboratively to harvest new ways of viewing difficulties, develop new ways of coping and exploring interventions to alleviate distress and protect continued mental wellness.
