Unique like your fingerprint?

Therapy is never the same. Each person is as their fingerprints -similar at first glance, but unique and recognisable once you take the effort to look closely.
However, there is one problem that shows itself over and over again, in different shapes and forms – should you work hard to try to improve yourself, or accept what is?

I know a lot of people who would have a straight and simple answer to this question, each preaching for one side of the coin. But what should You do? Which is the right answer for Your situation?

Disappointingly perhaps, I rarely offer an answer to this question (I leave that for you to decide for yourself). What is better (or even possible) – learning to become who you “really” are, or learning to love who you “always were”? Striving vs. acceptance. Is our conscious mind more “us” than our feeling body?

Perhaps the answer lies somewhere in between; accepting imperfections, striving to be better whilst knowing we can’t be perfect. Doing the best we can with what we have whilst being kind to ourselves.

The starting point is always here and now. This is You in your current form, be grateful of that. Now… what exciting places would you like to go..?
